Cleaner (12 Month Fixed Term)

Edward River Council is seeking a reliable and motivated Office Cleaner to help maintain our offices and facilities in a clean, safe and welcoming condition. This role plays an significant part in supporting our staff, visitors and community by ensuring Council workplaces are well-presented and maintained to a high standard.

Position Details:

- 38-hour week

- 12-month contract

- Band 1 Level 2 ($54,600 - $68,187 per annum + superannuation)

- Based in Deniliquin

Key Responsibilities:

- Clean Council office buildings and associated facilities, including amenities, kitchens, meeting rooms, offices and common areas.

- Undertake scheduled cleaning of the Deniliquin Airport and other Council facilities as directed.

- Empty waste and recycling bins and dispose of waste appropriately.

- Maintain floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings in a clean and presentable condition.

- Restock consumables including soap, hand towels and toilet paper.

- Safely use, store and maintain cleaning chemicals and equipment.

- Report maintenance defects, hazards, damage and security concerns.

- Maintain cleaning storerooms in a clean, organised and safe condition.

- Comply with Council policies, procedures and safety requirements.

What You Will Bring:

Essential

- Experience undertaking cleaning duties in a commercial, industrial or similar environment.

- Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.





- Ability to work independently and manage routine tasks with minimal supervision.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.

- Ability to identify and report hazards, maintenance issues and defects.

- Demonstrated reliability and professionalism.

- Current Driver's Licence.

Desirable

- Previous experience cleaning office buildings, public facilities or local government assets.

- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements relevant to cleaning operations.

- Chemical Handling Certificate or similar training.

- First Aid Certificate
