This includes assisting with routine inspections, basic maintenance, fault reporting, record keeping and customer assistance relating to Council’s parking equipment and facilities. Training will be provided in Council systems, equipment and procedures, with specialist technical work only undertaken where appropriate training and authorisation has been provided.

- Provide customers with prompt, courteous and accurate information.

- Issue parking infringement notices and maintain accurate records.

- Operate the Marine Terrace Car Park booth, including processing payments, checking tickets and completing daily reconciliations.

- Respond appropriately to difficult or challenging customer interactions.

- Assist with routine inspections, basic maintenance and fault reporting for Council’s parking equipment and facilities, with training provided.

- Work collaboratively with the team and participate in job rotation when required.

- Identify opportunities to improve parking services and the customer experience.

What we are looking for

You will bring:

- Sound literacy and numeracy skills.

- Experience in customer service, particularly in challenging environments.

- Robust communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve conflict.

- The ability to work independently, organise your workload and contribute positively to a diverse team.

- Confidence using basic computerised equipment and a willingness to learn new technology.

- A practical aptitude or willingness to learn the basic operation and maintenance of parking equipment and systems.

- The ability to safely use basic hand tools and equipment, or a willingness to learn.

- The ability to follow procedures, technical instructions and safe work practices.

- A willingness to undertake formal and on-the-job training.

Experience in a practical, maintenance, facilities, trade assistant, technical or equipment-based environment will be highly regarded, as will experience with completing records, registers or maintenance information.

A current driver's licence and the ability to pass a National Police Check are also required.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to work in a varied role that combines community interaction, customer service and practical work, while developing your knowledge and skills through training and on-the-job experience.
