Why Bedshed?
Join Bedshed, where it’s not just customers that are valued and listened to. Here, we empower you to contribute and make a difference in people’s lives. Our success is built on the memorable connections you make with others, the positive impact you provide in each interaction. We want to provide all those who join our team with the opportunity to improve the experience we offer and help achieve our ambitions for the future.
About the role
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused and proactive Warehouse Assistant to join our valued Bedshed Kingsgrove team. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Receiving and dispatching stock
- Picking and packing customer orders
- Assisting with inventory management
- Operating a forklift
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised warehouse environment
- Assisting with store transfers and customer deliveries when required
You will also work closely with our Alexandria sales team to coordinate delivery schedules, communicate with customers regarding upcoming deliveries and ensure all delivery documentation is completed accurately.
Some furniture assembly will be required, particularly bed frames and bed bases, so practical skills and a hands-on approach will be highly regarded.
This is a casual position; however, we are looking for someone seeking ongoing, regular work. The role is expected to provide approximately 16-24 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours during busier periods.
About you
You are dependable, organised and take pride in maintaining a clean, safe and efficient workspace.
Comfortable following established processes, you bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential. We are equally interested in candidates who are motivated, reliable and keen to develop recent skills within a supportive team environment.
As this is a casual role, consistent availability and reliability are important. Additional availability during our peak trading period from November to January will be highly regarded.
You understand the importance of delivering a great customer experience and take pride in following through on commitments, communicating clearly and ensuring deliveries and customer expectations are met on time.
Skills
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current and valid driver's licence (essential)
- The confidence and communication skills to work effectively with both customers and team members
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes
- A reliable and flexible approach to work
- Basic mechanical aptitude and confidence assembling furniture products
Please do not apply if you do not hold a current driver's licence, as driving forms an essential part of this role. A forklift license is not essential for this role.
