- Pay: SCHADS Level 3 $40.49 to $43.42 per hour + generous Salary packaging up to $18,550 (pay less tax) + Super
- Location: Tuggerah with community outreach
As a Mental Health Support worker with Uniting’s Community Living Supports (CLS) program, you will provide a range of individualised psychosocial supports that empowers consumers. Working with the recovery model and using a holistic, person-centred approach, the Support Worker will support the consumers to achieve their goals towards increased abilities and skills, and their individualised recovery plans.
Uniting’s Community Living Supports (CLS) is a community outreach program supporting people aged 16+ across NSW on their recovery journey and transition to quality of life in the community. The service delivery is individualised and flexible.
Role Overview:
- Provide person-centred, recovery-focused support to consumers to achieve their individual goals.
- Develop and monitor recovery plans in partnership with consumers, carers, families and clinicians.
- Encourage personal growth, independence, confidence and a sense of belonging.
- Support consumers to develop social, living and vocational skills.
- Promote education, self-care strategies and meaningful community participation.
- Connect consumers with relevant community services, specialists and support networks.
- Maintain accurate consumer records, reporting and documentation in line with organisational requirements.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or related field.
- At least 12 months relevant experience working in the field of expertise.
- Experience working with consumers experiencing mental health challenges.
- Understanding of the Principles of Recovery Orientated Mental Health Practice.
- Demonstrated ability to develop individual support plans with consumers.
- Ability to provide individualised psychosocial support to people living with severe and persistent mental illness
- Strong documentation skills - assessment reports, progress notes and reporting
- A current full Australian driver’s licence.
- A paid NSW Working with Children Check
Desirable Criteria:
- Mental Health First Aid certificate or equivalent
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Completion of ASIST training and/or suicide prevention
- Experience with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- Advanced knowledge of local community service networks.
