- Full time
- Three year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension
- Starting salary of $115,000 per annum, plus up to 15.75% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the future direction of Public Health at the City of Busselton.

Reporting to the Manager Community Safety, the Public Health Coordinator will lead the City's Public Health function. The role is a key leadership position responsible for guiding the City's transition towards a contemporary, prevention focused public health model. Maintaining oversight of statutory environmental health functions, the role will drive strategic initiatives that strengthen community wellbeing, build organisational capability and position the City to respond to emerging public health challenges.

Leading a team of highly skilled professionals, the role will provide strategic direction, foster a culture of development and continuous improvement, and leverage the team's solid technical expertise to deliver meaningful community outcomes. The Coordinator plays a pivotal role in implementing the City's Public Health Plan, shaping policy and organisational priorities, building partnerships across sectors, and promoting innovative approaches to public health and wellbeing.

This role is ideal for a leader who can think beyond compliance and regulation, influence at both an operational and strategic level,



and help shape the future of public health within one of Western Australia's most progressive local governments.

What you’ll bring to the role:

In addition to a Qualification in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field, the ideal candidate will align with the City’s Values and be able to demonstrate the below capabilities:

- Significant leadership and people management experience, including staff supervision, performance management, mentoring and team development.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental health, public health or regulatory services, including in the interpretation and application of relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated success leading organisational change, influencing strategic outcomes, developing high-performing teams and translating complex public health priorities into practical, measurable community outcomes.
- Highly developed interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and customer service skills, with the demonstrated ability to manage complex matters, competing priorities, statutory deadlines and organisational outcomes.

Pre-employment requirements:

- Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- National Police Clearance (less than six months old).
- Proof of right to work in Australia.
- Pre-employment medical (arranged and paid for by the City).
