Hyundai Rotem Company (HRC) was founded in 1977 and since that time, has been leading the industry globally by delivering critical national infrastructure in over 50 countries. A leader in the Korean rail industry, HRC has succeeded in developing high-speed trains and is now establishing their presence in the Australian market.

The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) - a project commissioning, designing and constructing a new manufacturing facility in Torbanlea Qld and a new maintenance facility in Ormeau Qld. It includes manufacturing and delivering 65 EMU Train sets (390 cars) by the end of 2031.

Combined local and international design teams and suppliers will work together to ensure the delivery of manufacturing requirements and associated documentation to ensure that train sets locally manufactured in Australia meet the design, compliance, manufacturability, reliability, maintainability and safety specifications for the trains operational life for a minimum of at least 35 years.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a BRAND NEW team for one of the biggest rail project at our Torbanlea Manufacturing Facility Site and seeking 1 x experienced Production Control Manager (Fit-out).

Production Control Manager (Fit-out)

Reporting to the Production Manager, The Production Control (Fit-Out) Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the full production process associated with rolling stock interior fit-out. You will be the key link between production teams, engineering, quality, logistics, and project stakeholders.

Your focus will be to ensure production plans are developed, maintained, and executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with project timelines and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain clear electrical fit-out production plans, including the scope, objectives, timelines and allocation of electrical materials, equipment and technical resources.

- Manage project plans and production schedules relating to the installation, testing, modification and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.





- Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications and installation requirements in support of Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.

- Undertake pre-emptive technical management of issues arising during the electrical fit-out process, including identifying faults, investigating causes and implementing appropriate corrective measures.

- Work closely with Electrical Engineers, Engineering Technologists and cross-functional production teams to understand electrical modification requirements, provide technical input and gather feedback.

- Ensure that electrical fit-out activities and technical outcomes align with project specifications, production requirements and the company’s operational objectives.

- Identify potential technical and safety risks associated with electrical installations and production activities and develop appropriate mitigation measures.

- Inspect electrical installations, equipment and completed fit-out work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards and applicable safety requirements.

- Conduct tests and measurements of electrical systems and equipment, analyse the results and prepare technical charts, tabulations and reports.

- Assist with assembling, installing, testing, calibrating, modifying and repairing electrical equipment and installations used in the fit-out process.

- Estimate and monitor the quantities of electrical materials, components and equipment required to complete scheduled production activities.

- Maintain detailed technical records of electrical installations, testing results, identified defects,



modifications and corrective actions.

- Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly electrical fit-out activities in accordance with approved production plans and technical requirements.

- Review project and production plans and provide technical input to ensure that they support the required electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities.

- Report all safety incidents and near misses and take reasonable steps to protect the health and safety of personnel involved in electrical fit-out activities.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- A qualification in Engineering, Project Management or similar.

- Minimum 5 years’ rolling stock industry experience

- Strong knowledge of project management principles.

- Problem-solving and analytical mindset.

- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.

- Ability to read and interpret mechanical or electrical drawings.

- Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and stakeholder influence.

- Robust understanding of on-site production control processes.

- Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

- Understanding of HSE, Rail Safety and quality management principles.

- Customer-focused, team-oriented and accountable.

- A full driver’s licence and willingness to travel when required.
