The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is Australia’s premier training ground for future leaders and practitioners in the dramatic arts. Located at Kensington in Sydney, it is a Centre of excellence in education and training. NIDA is unique in the world for its practice-based and industry-relevant training in the range that it offers which includes Acting, Design, Costume, Properties and Objects, Technical Theatre and Stage Management, Scenic Construction, Writing for Performance, Directing and Cultural Leadership.

About the Role

As the Building Services Officer, you will support the day-to-day operation, maintenance and safety of NIDA's facilities. This hands-on role involves coordinating room and event setups, responding to maintenance requests, monitoring building systems and access controls, undertaking preventative and corrective maintenance, supporting compliance and workplace safety activities. You will also play an important role in emergency response procedures, helping to ensure NIDA's campus remains safe, functional and welcoming for staff, students and visitors.

About You

We're seeking a proactive and customer-focused Building Services professional with strong maintenance, problem-solving and organisational skills. You'll be comfortable working independently, supporting building operations and emergency response activities while delivering excellent service to a diverse range of stakeholders.



Relevant certifications and availability for rotating shifts are essential, while experience in facilities, venue, education or not-for-profit environments will be highly regarded.

Summary

This is a full-time 2-year contract.

The base annual salary is $79,020 + 12% Superannuation, based on a 38-hour working week.

Considerations

- You are required to have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this role. This role is not suited to a working holiday visa holder.

- A valid Working with Children Check for NSW is essential. Having one or being willing to get one and to support and implement NIDA’s Child Safe Strategies is necessary to undertake this role.
