About the Role

The Internal Communications and Engagement Officer plays an important role in connecting and engaging UOW's staff community through transparent, timely and impactful communications. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications, you will coordinate and produce staff-facing content across a range of internal communication channels while supporting the delivery of Vice-Chancellor events and engagement activities. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who enjoys content creation, stakeholder collaboration and bringing organisational communications to life.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and produce engaging content across staff communication channels, including the intranet, newsletters, all-staff communications and digital platforms.
- Coordinate Vice-Chancellor staff events and engagement activities, managing logistics, communications and event delivery to create positive staff experiences.
- Support the planning and delivery of internal communication and engagement initiatives, maintaining content schedules, communications calendars and distribution activities.
- Create, edit and publish high-quality communications materials and presentations that are accurate, accessible, on-brand and aligned with the University's strategic priorities.

About the Team

The Internal Communications team sits within the External Relations and Communications Division in the Vice-Chancellor's Office. The team is responsible for helping staff stay informed, engaged and connected through effective communication and engagement strategies. Working closely with leaders and stakeholders across the University,



the team delivers communications that support organisational priorities, major initiatives and community engagement.

What You'll Bring

- A degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
- Experience in communications, internal communications or a similar coordination role involving content creation and channel management.
- Strong writing, editing and content production skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working with digital communication channels and platforms, including intranets, email marketing tools, content management systems or newsletters.
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.

Role Details

- Employment type: Permanent/Continuing | Full-time appointment
- Level 5: $85,682 - $96,896 + 17% superannuation commensurate with experience and capability
