Help build something new

Blue Dog Training’s VET in Schools team is entering an exciting new space as we prepare to deliver UEE22020 Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) in Queensland high schools from mid-2027.

We are looking for a qualified electrician with the drive and ability to take ownership of this new program, develop it from the ground up and make it their own.

Initially, the role will focus on developing engaging and compliant training and assessment resources. From mid-2027, the successful applicant will also deliver the program and assess senior high school students.

About the role

You will work closely with our VET in Schools and compliance teams to:

- Develop practical, engaging and compliant training and assessment resources

- Help establish the Certificate II in Electrotechnology program from the ground up

- Prepare the program for delivery in Queensland high schools from mid-2027

- Deliver training and assess the practical skills of senior high school students

- Build strong relationships with students, schools and industry stakeholders

- Review and continually improve resources based on delivery experience and feedback

- Potentially support the delivery of CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways in the future

The role will be based in Brisbane or Southeast Queensland and require regular attendance at our Milton office. Hybrid working arrangements will be available where suitable.

Travel to partner schools across Queensland may also be required once delivery commences.

Key responsibilities

About you

- A relevant electrical trade qualification

- Strong practical experience as an electrician

- The ability to write clear, practical and accurate resources

- Strong attention to detail

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Good digital literacy and the ability to learn new systems

- The ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team

- A genuine interest in training and supporting young people

- A current open Australian driver licence

- Eligibility to obtain a Queensland Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card)

Previous resource development experience or experience working with high school-aged students would be advantageous.

A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly regarded but is not mandatory. Blue Dog Training can support the right person to obtain the required qualification while working alongside experienced Trainers and Assessors.
