Situated in Glenroy and just 12kms from the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, Northern Golf Club boasts a beautiful 18-hole championship golf course. Our club has a proud history of developing and supporting golf since Melbourne’s earliest days. Formally established in 1896, then known as the Essendon Golf Club, the course moved to Glenroy over 110 years ago. During this time, the course has evolved to become a challenging, premium golf destination.
About the Role
Northern Golf Club are seeking an experienced turf skilled who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors and wants to contribute to maintaining and continually improving the golf course for our members and guests. Working as part of our greenkeeping team, you will play an important role in the day-to-day presentation and maintenance of the golf course.
Key responsibilities include:
• Prepare and present the course for daily play, including mowing, bunker preparation, course set-up and changing hole locations
• Undertake pest and weed control activities under the direction of the Superintendent and leadership team
• Maintaining machinery and equipment to a high standard
• Supporting irrigation management and upcoming system upgrades
• Assisting with course renovations, projects and ongoing improvements
About you
You will ideally have:
• A formal greenkeeping qualification (or close to completion)
• Minimum 1-2 years of golf course maintenance experience is essential
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to embrace change
• Interest in modern practices, technology, and course improvement
• Leadership capability or the desire to grow into a senior role
• Valid Australian work rights or appropriate work visa required
Previous experience with irrigation systems and/or chemical application will be well regarded but is not essential.
