About the role

The Seat Shop Pty Ltd is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team in Mackay, QLD. This is a full-time position focused on driving new business growth and expanding our market presence. As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, building strategic relationships, and developing revenue streams that contribute to the company's expansion and long-term success. This role is pivotal in positioning The Seat Shop as a leader in our sector and directly impacts our ability to achieve ambitious growth targets.

What you'll be doing

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the local and regional markets

- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets and revenue goals

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders

- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform business strategy

- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients

- Negotiate contracts and agreements with current clients to secure profitable business deals

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful onboarding and delivery of new business

- Monitor industry trends and identify emerging opportunities for business expansion

- Maintain accurate records of business development activities and pipeline progression

- Report on business development metrics and provide regular updates to senior management

What we're looking for

- Proven track record in recent business development, sales, or account management within a commercial environment

- Robust understanding of sales cycles and ability to manage multiple prospects simultaneously

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders

- Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs





- Self-motivated and results-driven with strong organisational and time management skills

- Knowledge of the local Mackay market and established business networks (desirable)

- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office applications

- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

- A definite understanding of construction, agricultural and mining machinery.

- Clean driving licence and willingness to travel within the region
