Andean Silver Limited (ASX: ASL, OTCQX: ADSLF) is an Australian mineral exploration and development company focused on advancing its 100% owned Cerro Bayo Silver-Gold project in the Aysen region of Southern Chile which boasts some of the largest precious and base metals in the world.
The project currently hosts Indicated and Inferred MRE of 136Moz AgEq, comprised of open pit Resources of 44Moz AgEq and underground Resources of 92Moz AgEq. The Company is supported by a highly experienced team with a track record of creating shareholder wealth.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Technical Document Controller to join our team in West Perth on a six-month fixed-term basis.
This is a project-focused role suited to someone who enjoys creating structure from complex and disorganised information in both spanish and english language, and multiple GIS, database and mining software formats. The successful candidate will be required to review, assess, organise and consolidate a significant volume of historical technical information currently held across various systems, folders, databases, emails and other storage locations.
A key component of the role will be understanding what information we have, determining where it belongs, identifying gaps and duplication, and establishing a logical, user-friendly and sustainable document management system that enables information to be easily located, accessed and maintained into the future.
This is an excellent chance for an experienced Document Controller or Information Management professional who takes pride in building effective systems, improving document organisation and turning large volumes of information into a structured and accessible resource.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Review,
assess and catalogue historical technical information held across emails, shared drives, databases, document management systems and other locations.
- Establish a clear and logical structure for the storage, naming, classification and retrieval of technical documentation.
- Review and organise historical datasets and technical records, identifying duplication, obsolete information, gaps and inconsistencies.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive document control register and information database.
- Establish appropriate document naming conventions, version control, metadata and filing protocols.
- Consolidate information from multiple sources into a centralised and easily accessible document management structure.
- Review existing policies, procedures, frameworks, guidelines, forms and other documentation and transfer them into Company templates where required.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing improvement of document management and information management systems.
- Ensure technical information is appropriately controlled, stored, protected and readily retrievable.
- Work closely with the Technical Director and Geology Manager to understand the purpose and context of technical information and ensure the resulting system meets the needs of the business.
- Develop processes and guidelines that support the ongoing maintenance and integrity of the document management system.
Skills,
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- 5+ years' experience in a Document Control, Information Management or similar technical role.
- Demonstrated experience establishing, implementing or improving document and information management systems.
- Understanding of GIS, database and mining software data formats preferred
- Excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach to managing large volumes of information.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies, duplication and missing information.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.
- Previous experience within the mining, resources, engineering or technical services industries.
- Strong understanding of document control principles, including version control, document registers, naming conventions, classification and document retention.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound recommendations.
- A proactive approach and genuine interest in creating systems, processes and structure from complex or disorganised information.
- Spanish language skills would be advantageous, particularly the ability to read and interpret technical documentation, however not essential.
