Selection Criteria

KSC 1: Demonstrated experience in providing strategic ICT leadership within a complex educational or organisational environment, including the capacity to develop and implement long‑term technology strategies and roadmaps aligned with organisational priorities, strategic plans and aligned with Department of Education policy.

KSC 2: Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective ICT governance frameworks, manage technology projects through structured planning and delivery processes, and strengthen business continuity, cyber security and operational risk management across ICT functions aligned with Department of Education policy.

KSC 3:High-level knowledge of ICT infrastructure, enterprise systems, software development environments, cloud-based services and network operations, together with the capacity to provide effective oversight of technical operations and external service providers.

KSC 5 :Highly developed people leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead organisational change, build collaborative relationships with executive leadership, technical staff, teachers and external stakeholders, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and responsive service delivery.

Role

This is a new role to support the growth of the college. The role will lead and support the current and growing team.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT)/Network Manager provides strategic leadership, governance and operational oversight of ICT services across the College, ensuring alignment with Department of Education policies and the School Strategic Plan.

The ICT/Network Manager will work with the school leadership team to guide how technology supports teaching, learning, collaboration and organisational effectiveness across the college.

The role is responsible for developing and implementing a long‑term ICT strategy that delivers secure, reliable and innovative technology services while supporting the evolving needs of students, teachers and administrative staff. This includes leadership of digital learning initiatives, cyber security, business continuity planning, infrastructure development and ICT service delivery.

Working closely with school leaders, teachers, technical staff and external service providers, the ICT/Network Manager will identify emerging technologies and sustainable solutions that enhance educational outcomes and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with strategic thinking, technical expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement. They will view technology as an enabler of excellence helping teachers teach, students learn and the organisation thrive.

The is a full time position, Monday to Friday (not including Public Holidays) with the start time commencing at 8:00am and finishing at 4:00pm. These times may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions.Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.

be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day‑to‑day direction minimal.Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school.Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

ICT Support

With the Assistant Principal ¿ Teaching & Learning to lead, support and direct the day-to-day work of the ICT Team members ¿ a growing team in line with the growth of the college.

- Provide first and second-level ICT support to staff and students, including troubleshooting hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, classroom technology, audio-visual equipment, and network connectivity issues.
- Maintaining the school's ICT infrastructure, including computer networks, servers, Microsoft 365, user accounts, wireless networks, end‑user devices, and digital learning technologies.
- Deploy, configure, maintain, and support desktops, laptops, MacBooks, iPads, tablets, printers, interactive displays, AV in the Classroom, VR systems, robotics equipment, and 3D printers.
- Install, configure, update, and maintain software, operating systems, and ICT equipment in accordance with Department of Education and school policies.
- Assist with device imaging, deployment, asset management, cybersecurity practices, backups, routine maintenance, and technology upgrades.
- Respond to ICT support requests, maintain support documentation, and liaise with external service providers to ensure timely resolution of technical issues. Allocate requests to ICT Technicians.
- Assist with ICT maintenance and project work during scheduled school holiday periods.

Digital Technologies Support

- Support students under the supervision of classroom teachers and assist in delivering the school's Digital Technologies program under the direction of the Digital Learning Specialist Teacher.
- Prepare, configure, maintain, and support digital learning technologies, including iPads, MacBooks, AV in the Classroom, robotics, coding equipment, VR systems, interactive displays, and 3D printers.
- Assist teachers and students in the effective and protected use of digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
- Support STEM programs, coding activities, makerspace initiatives, and other technology-based learning experiences.
- Assist with the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of in-house applications and digital solutions that enhance teaching, learning, and school operations.

Multimedia & Communications

- Coordinate live streaming and provide audio‑visual support for assemblies, performances, graduations, information sessions, and other school events.
- Assist staff and students in using multimedia equipment, photography and video production equipment, live streaming technologies, and digital content creation software.

ICT Operations & Infrastructure

- Oversee the performance, security and reliability of all ICT infrastructure, systems and cloud services.




- Lead infrastructure planning to ensure scalability and sustainability for future organisational growth.
- Manage software implementation, system upgrades and technology lifecycle planning.

Cyber Security & Risk Management

- Lead cyber security initiatives in accordance with Department of Education requirements.
- Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Identify, assess and mitigate operational and organisational ICT risks.
- Lead and coordinate ICT staff, contractors and external service providers.
- Ensure ICT projects are delivered using effective planning, governance and project management methodologies.
- Build productive relationships with school leaders, teachers and support staff to ensure technology meets educational and operational needs.

Key Capabilities

- Demonstrated sound judgement, initiative and practical problem‑solving skills in a busy and complex school environment.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, allocate resources and tasks effectively, and respond appropriately to urgent facilities and maintenance matters.
- Ability to work independently with limited day‑to‑day supervision while recognising when matters require escalation to the Business Manager, Principal or other appropriate staff.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate and monitor multiple maintenance and facilities activities simultaneously.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with school leadership, staff, contractors, service providers and external partners.
- Ability to provide practical advice and recommendations to support effective facilities management, safety and compliance outcomes.
