Picture this: leading a beautiful centre just moments from the beach, surrounded by an engaged local community, with the support, perks, and freedom to truly build something special.
If you are a warm, energetic and hands-on people leader who loves being around people, rolling up your sleeves, inspiring teams and creating engaging learning environments, this could be your next chapter.
At Emali Early Learning, we don’t just run centres: we grow leaders, nurture teams, and create communities where children, families and educators thrive.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Centre Directorto lead our Brighton Centre.
This is more than a management role. It is an opportunity to build a centre, shape culture, mentor educators and be a visible, trusted and positive presence for children, families and your team.
The Brighton Centre embraces its coastal location, solid community connections and beautiful indoor and outdoor learning spaces. You will have the opportunity to build, elevate and strengthen the centre, supported by Emali’s leadership team and established systems.
We are looking for a Director who is active, visible and genuinely enjoys being part of centre life.
You won’t be someone who spends the day behind a desk , you’ll be up and about, greeting families, checking in with educators, engaging with children, supporting your team and creating a positive energy throughout the centre.
You will be a warm and welcoming face of the centre, someone who naturally builds relationships and makes children, families and educators feel valued. You’ll bring enthusiasm, positivity and a little bit of bubbly energy to your leadership every day.
You will also be part of Emali’s Flying Start Program, which provides structured onboarding, leadership support and ongoing professional development.
About You
You are a people-first, family-focused leader who leads with heart, confidence and clarity.
You are warm, approachable and energetic. You genuinely enjoy people and understand that strong relationships with families and educators are at the heart of a successful early learning centre.
You are the type of leader who will know families by name, celebrate team achievements, check in when someone is having a difficult day and be willing to jump in and help when needed.
You will be:
- Warm, welcoming and bubbly, with a positive and engaging personality
- Family-focused, with a genuine commitment to building strong relationships and community connections
- Hands-on and visible, enjoying being out and about rather than sitting behind a desk
- A confident leader who can inspire, mentor, coach and develop educators
- Someone who brings energy, optimism and a Growth Mindset to their leadership
- Calm, accountable and clear when navigating challenges
- Passionate about creating an environment where children, families and educators feel safe, respected and connected
You will bring:
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education & Care (ACECQA approved)
- Strong knowledge of EYLF, NQS and the Assessment & Rating process
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence with technology and systems, including Microsoft Office and Xplor
- A genuine passion for high-quality education, care and leadership
Child Safety Comes First
At Emali, the safety, wellbeing and protection of children is a paramount consideration in everything we do.
We are looking for a leader who understands that keeping children safe is not simply a compliance requirement. it is the foundation of everything we do.
You will lead with a strong child-safe mindset, ensuring active supervision, safe practices, appropriate educator behaviours and strong safeguarding practices are embedded into everyday centre life.
You will be confident holding yourself and others accountable to our child safety expectations and creating an environment where children are safe, heard, respected and protected.
Most importantly, you are a leader who understands that great leadership starts with putting children first.
