About the Role
As a Casual Health and Security Assistant, you'll be an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, providing both security and support services within a dynamic healthcare environment. No two days are the same. You'll assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment, respond to incidents and duress alarms, support patients, visitors and staff, undertake environmental cleaning duties, and contribute to the smooth operation of healthcare facilities.
This is a hands-on role requiring professionalism, resilience, and adaptability. You'll work across a 7-day rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, public holidays and school holidays. The role may also involve working within a morgue environment, requiring a respectful and professional approach at all times.
About You
You're a confident, adaptable professional with a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and supporting high-quality healthcare delivery. You communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds and can manage challenging situations with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgement.
To be successful in this role, you'll hold a current NSW Class 1A Security Licence (SLED), a current Senior First Aid Certificate, and a current driver's licence.
You have experience managing aggressive or challenging behaviours and responding appropriately in emergency and duress situations, while remaining calm and skilled under pressure.
You thrive in a team environment and enjoy working collaboratively with a diverse range of healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective services. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build positive relationships with patients, visitors, staff, and members of the public, while providing a high standard of customer service.
You also have an understanding of environmental cleaning practices, infection control requirements, safe manual handling techniques, and workplace health and safety principles. Flexibility is essential, as you'll be available to work a rotating roster across mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, public holidays, and school holidays. Most importantly, you'll bring a professional, respectful, and compassionate approach to all aspects of the role, including a willingness to work within a morgue environment when required.

Providing a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors, and assisting clinical staff in the care and comfort of patients.
