Help build the People capability behind a growing global franchise network

We operate in a unique environment combining a corporate Support Centre, a geographically dispersed franchise network, retail operations and field‑based teams. HR Business Partner, ANZ Job in Milton, Brisbane QLD - SEEK.pdf
As we enter our next phase of growth, we’re strengthening our People, Performance & Culture capability and building more scalable, commercially focused ways of working across the organisation.
We’re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner – ANZ who has worked in a high‑performing, multi‑site environment and knows what great HR looks like.
This role will suit someone who has developed their HR capability within an FMCG, retail, consumer, logistics, manufacturing, franchising or similarly fast‑paced multi‑site organisation, ideally with exposure to a global or shared‑services People model.
You’ll report directly to the Global Chief People Officer and act as the key People partner to our ANZ leadership team.
This isn’t a role that simply responds to HR requests. We’re looking for someone who can coach leaders, solve problems at their source, build organisational capability and help us modernise the way we attract, manage and develop our people.
What you’ll own
You’ll partner closely with ANZ leaders to translate business priorities into practical people actions, while ensuring our core People disciplines are executed exceptionally well.
- Business partnering & leadership capability – become a trusted adviser to senior and operational leaders, strengthening leadership accountability, decision‑making and people capability.
- Organisation & workforce planning – support organisation design, workforce planning, role clarity, succession and capability decisions as the business grows.
- Performance & talent – embed a stronger performance culture through goal setting, performance conversations, talent reviews, succession planning and development.
- Employee relations – provide pragmatic, commercially sound advice across complex ER matters, performance management, investigations, change and employment legislation.
- Talent acquisition – partner with leaders to improve workforce planning, recruitment quality, speed to hire and candidate experience, particularly across hard‑to‑fill operational roles.
- Franchise Partner people capability – help develop practical,
scalable tools and solutions that enable our Franchise Partners to attract, retain and develop great people across their businesses.
- People operations & governance – strengthen policies, processes and controls across the employee lifecycle while reducing unnecessary administration and improving leader self‑service.
- People technology & continuous improvement – help us modernise our People infrastructure through better systems, automation, data and streamlined processes.
- Insights & analytics – use workforce data to identify trends, risks and opportunities and turn them into meaningful recommendations for leaders.
- Culture & engagement – translate employee feedback and business priorities into targeted actions that strengthen accountability, collaboration and performance.
What we’re looking for
This role requires more than strong HR technical knowledge. We’re looking for someone who understands the commercial realities of an operational business and can move comfortably between the boardroom, Support Centre and frontline.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong HR Business Partner experience gained within FMCG, retail, consumer, manufacturing, logistics, franchising or another complex multi‑site environment.
- Experience working within a mature People operating model, ideally incorporating global Centres of Excellence, shared services and local business partnering.
- Demonstrated success partnering with senior operational leaders and influencing decisions rather than simply providing HR advice.
- Strong Australian employee relations, performance management and employment legislation expertise.
- Experience supporting organisation design, workforce planning, talent and succession decisions.
- A track record of improving HR processes, systems and ways of working rather than simply administering existing ones.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance employee, operational and business considerations.
- Confidence using data and workforce insights to influence decisions.
- Experience in franchise, field‑based or geographically dispersed workforces would be highly regarded.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who is comfortable with pace and ambiguity,
sees what needs improving and takes ownership of making it better.
You won’t need a large team or layers of process around you to make things happen. Equally, you’ll understand that great HR isn’t about doing everything for leaders — it’s about building their capability and creating simple, scalable ways for the organisation to operate.
Why Poolwerx?
This is an chance to join Poolwerx at an important point in its evolution.
You’ll work directly with our Global Chief People Officer and ANZ leadership team, with genuine exposure to the broader global People agenda.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence and build — from performance and talent practices through to HR technology, workforce capability and the way we support our Franchise Partner network.
For someone coming from a larger FMCG, retail or multi‑site organisation, it’s a chance to take the disciplines and practices you’ve seen work well and apply them with significantly greater ownership, visibility and impact.
We’re a growing global business, but still small enough that good ideas can move quickly and your contribution will be visible.
If you’re a commercially minded HR Business Partner who enjoys building capability, challenging the status quo and making organisations work better, we’d love to hear from you.
