About The Firm

Our clients is a premier specialist law firm servicing the strata, development, construction, and property industries. This firm prides itself on delivering pragmatic, cost-effective, and first-class legal solutions for their clients.

Due to growth and a strong pipeline of work, out client is looking to expand it's construction team to recruit a talented construction lawyer to run high-value, complex litigation matters.

About The Role

In this role, you will take day-to-day carriage of a diverse portfolio of construction disputes. Working closely with other senior members of the team, you will represent clients in the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT), the District Court and the Supreme Court of NSW.

Your core responsibilities will include:

- Dispute Resolution & Litigation: Running construction defect claims, breach of contract claims,



and Home Building Act disputes from initiation to final hearing or settlement.
- SOPA Management: Advising on, preparing, and responding to claims under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act (SOPA).
- Expert Engagement: Briefing, collaborating, and managing external technical experts, including building consultant specialists, surveyors, and engineers.
- Strategic Advisory:Providing front-end contract risk assessments, project administration advice, and complex regulatory guidance.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Experience: A minimum of 4 years PAE swithin building, construction, or commercial litigation practice in Australia.
- Technical Savvy:Familiarity with the Design and Building Practitioners Act (DBPA), Home Building Act, and SOPA mechanisms.
- Autonomy & Drive: Proven ability to manage files independently, mentor junior team members, and build solid client relationships.
