NexGenus

Melbourne

Melbourne based. Selling into Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the United States. Reporting to the Managing Director.

The role

NexGenus sells managed offshore capacity. A qualified engineer, drafter, detailer, estimator or back office professional in Vietnam, trained on the standards and software of the client, reviewed by a Team Leader, working client hours, at roughly half the total cost of a local hire. Not a placement. A seat.

The product works, the delivery base is built and the first reference client is live. What does not exist yet is the commercial engine. That is this role.

You will do two things at once. You will sell direct into four markets, and you will build the agency and partner network that carries NexGenus into them faster than any single desk can reach. Where a market proves out, you stand up the NexGenus footprint behind it.

Why the market is open

- Construction has reported the highest workforce shortage of any Australian industry every year since 2021. The same shortage of estimators, detailers and drafters runs through New Zealand, Europe and the United States.
- Every seat starts with a free trial. Four to eight weeks on live jobs, no invoice. Clients are not asked to take a risk on a promise, only to let us do the work and judge it. It is the easiest first yes in the industry.
- A live anchor client, a verifiable saving of 50 to 60 percent of total employment cost, and a reference you can put on the phone rather than a case study.

What you will own

- Build the agency and partner network. Identify, approach and sign recruitment agencies, engineering consultancies, industry associations and channel partners in each market. Design the commercial terms with the Managing Director, onboard every partner properly, and own their performance quarter by quarter.
- Win direct clients. Build and work the target list across construction, manufacturing, modular, accounting and technology. Qualify what can and cannot be delivered offshore, take the brief properly, propose the trial and convert it.
- Stand up the footprint. Where a market proves out, build the presence behind it. Local agent, contractor or first hire, entity and compliance requirements scoped with the Managing Director.

- Own the account from first call to steady state. Stay accountable through the trial and into full operation, and move every single seat client toward a second seat or a team. This is where the desk compounds.
- Be the voice of the market to Vietnam. Turn sold pipeline into a rolling 90 day resourcing forecast so recruitment and training in Vietnam run ahead of your deals, not behind them.
- Run the commercial function. A current CRM, an honest forecast, and a visible presence at HIA, FTMA, prefabAUS, AMCA, NECA and the Australian Steel Institute, and their equivalents offshore.

In recruitment language, this is a client side desk

New business, partnerships and account growth, with no candidate sourcing and no resourcing half. Our Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang offices recruit, screen, technically assess, employ, train and supervise every person we place, and they present the shortlist to the client. If you have spent years wishing you could spend all of your time in front of clients and partners instead of splitting it with a candidate pipeline, this is that desk.

You will need

- Five or more years in B2B sales, at least three of them in recruitment, staffing or outsourced services sales, with construction, engineering or technical white collar strongly preferred.
- A record of hitting activity and revenue targets, and of building a pipeline from cold.
- Evidence of building something beyond your own desk. A channel, a partner network, a new territory, a current service line or a team.
- A live network of, or a credible route to, the people who run estimating, drafting and detailing in construction and manufacturing businesses.
- Consultative selling and brief taking. Scope the problem, propose a trial, hold the price, and push back when a requirement will not produce a shortlist worth interviewing.

- Commercial judgement on partner terms, and the discipline to walk away from a partner who will damage the brand.
- Australian working rights, a driver licence, a valid passport, and a genuine appetite for travel and for working across time zones.

It will help if you have

- Experience in the United Kingdom or wider European recruitment market, where KPI driven desks and offshore delivery models are most mature.
- Experience selling offshore, outsourced or managed service delivery, or running a reseller or referral channel.
- Prior exposure to the United States or New Zealand.
- A network in accounting practices or technology companies.

The package

- A$150,000 base plus 12 percent superannuation, being A$168,000 fixed before you sell anything.
- A$200,000 on target in year one at the seat target. Stretch A$226,000 and above.
- Uncapped commission with no threshold, paid monthly, and a guaranteed commission floor for the first three months while the pipeline builds.
- A commission override on seats sold through the partners you sign, so the network you build pays you after you build it.
- Vehicle allowance, phone, laptop, and four to six trips a year to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, usually with a client or a partner beside you.

The full commission plan, being how each part is earned, when it is paid and the worked numbers behind the on target figure, is walked through at interview and confirmed in writing at offer.

Where this leads

NexGenus runs from Melbourne with two delivery offices in Vietnam and a roadmap that opens New Zealand, Europe and the United States next. You join as the first commercial leadership hire, with the Managing Director beside you and a product that already works. As live seats pass 40 you make your first hire, and Commercial Director across the four markets is yours to earn.

Most senior sales roles hand you a territory somebody else built. This one hands you the map.

NexGenus is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities. Package figures are the on target plan and are confirmed in writing at offer.
