Ohana College Meadowbrook is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Wellbeing & Student Support to lead the delivery of our whole-college wellbeing framework and support the social, emotional and educational success of our students.

Ohana College provides alternative education to young people in Years 7–12 who have disengaged, or are at significant risk of disengaging, from traditional educational settings due to personal challenges and complex barriers to engagement.

This is a key leadership opportunity for a dedicated wellbeing professional to oversee student welfare, complex case management, child protection and individualised student support programs. Working closely with College leadership, teaching staff, families and external agencies, you will help create a safe, inclusive and culturally responsive workplace where all students can belong, grow and thrive.

As the Head of Wellbeing & Student Support, you will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of the whole-college wellbeing framework, student welfare, complex case management and child protection systems.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead the implementation of a whole-school wellbeing framework centred on trauma-responsive practice.
- Provide leadership and oversight of the College wellbeing team.
- Lead complex case management and oversee individualised student support programs.
- Lead child protection systems and reporting, including oversight of mandatory reporting processes.
- Provide crisis management advice, training and leadership.
- Foster a common language and shared understanding of an effective learning environment.
- Support the academic, social, emotional and cultural wellbeing of all students.
- Promote culturally safe, inclusive and equitable practices across the College.
- Support the development of Individual Support Plans and Education Support Plans.
- Support the monitoring of student diagnostic and NCCD data to ensure reasonable adjustments are implemented.
- Provide advice, resources and support to staff working with high-needs students.
- Liaise with students, families, staff and external stakeholders to support student success.
- Develop referral pathways and foster relationships with community organisations and external agencies.
- Support student engagement,



attendance, enrolments and the induction of new students.
- Work collaboratively with Teachers, Youth Specialists, Teacher Aides, the Welfare team and College leadership.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Bachelor of Education or equivalent qualification, or a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related field.
- Extensive experience working with young people at risk and an understanding of the complex barriers facing young people in alternative education settings.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead complex case management.
- Previous experience teaching or working in a flexible learning education setting.
- High-level knowledge and experience supporting students with disabilities.
- Extensive knowledge and experience delivering culturally safe programs and outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge and deep expertise in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and families, families at risk, and young people facing complex barriers to engagement.
- Strong knowledge of child protection and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to translate broad goals into achievable steps and deliver positive outcomes.
- The ability to self-manage, meet deadlines and work cohesively as part of a team.
- A commitment to diversity and respect for a wide range of faiths, beliefs, morals, ethics and experiences.
- The ability to support the development and delivery of a whole-school wellbeing program.
