As the Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store's operations, including team leadership, merchandising, inventory management, financial performance, and community engagement. You will ensure the shop runs smoothly while maintaining the high standards of customer service Collins Booksellers is known for.

Key Responsibilities

Store Leadership & Team Management

Lead, motivate and develop a team of booksellers to deliver exceptional service.

Manage staff rosters, training and performance to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Foster a strong team culture aligned with Collins Booksellers values.

Customer Experience

Ensure outstanding customer service is delivered at all times.

Resolve complex customer enquiries or concerns professionally.

Maintain a welcoming and engaging in-store experience for customers.

Drive store sales performance and work towards achieving sales targets.

Plan and execute merchandising displays and in-store promotions.

Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to improve results.

Inventory & Stock Management

Manage stock levels to ensure availability of key titles and products.

Oversee receiving, unpacking and merchandising of stock.

Conduct stocktakes and manage returns to suppliers.

Manage store budgets and monitor financial performance.

Ensure accurate cash handling and compliance with operational procedures.

Maintain a clean, protected and well-presented retail environment.

Community & Marketing

Build strong relationships with local schools, libraries and community groups.





Support store events including book signings, launches and author visits.

Promote the store within the local community through events and partnerships.

Requirements

Essential requirement of significant experience (5+ years) in a retail management role within the book industry.
