About the role

As a Project Manager with our Substations Business Unit, you will lead the successful delivery of complex substation and electrical infrastructure projects across Victoria's electricity network, with a strong focus on the Ausnet portfolio. Managing projects from initiation through to completion, you will be responsible for planning, engineering coordination, stakeholder management, construction delivery, commercial performance, and project governance. Supported by a strong pipeline of work, you will drive safe, compliant, and high-quality project outcomes while effectively managing risk, budget, and schedule. Working closely with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering critical energy infrastructure that supports network reliability and powers communities across Victoria.

Key responsibilities

- Driving a safety-first culture and ensuring all works comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards
- Leading end-to-end project execution – from early planning through to final completion




- Managing project timelines and milestones, ensuring smooth coordination across planning, mobilisation, procurement, execution and completion of procurement plans
- Developing and managing project schedules, budgets, forecasts, proactive risk management and ensuring delivery within financial targets
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders, maintaining strong and effective relationships
- Managing the end-to-end delivery of substation construction and upgrade projects, ensuring safe execution, effective stakeholder engagement, and successful outcomes across scope, schedule, budget, and quality
- Overseeing internal teams and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery of all works
- Handling contract variations, claims, and payment approvals, while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
- Ensuring all deliverables meet project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations and preparing accurate and timely reports on project progress, financials, risks, and key decisions

About you

- Minimum 5 years' experience in project delivery, ideally in distribution and/or utilities networks
- Direct experience working within the Victorian Electrical Distribution Network environment and commercial construction
- Strong stakeholder and client relationship skills
- Proven knowledge of electrical distribution, construction methodologies, and regulatory frameworks
- High attention to detail
- Qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, or related field
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing multiple project budgets of $10M p.a plus
