Woods & Co are working with one of Melbourne's leading Scaffolding suppliers on the lookout for a hands-on Assistant Yard Manager with warehouse or factory management experience to take charge of the busy operations yard in Melbourne's West.

About the Role

In this role, you'll oversee all aspects of yard and warehouse operations — from stock control, equipment maintenance and dispatch coordination, to managing a team of 5 and ensuring safety standards are met. You'll be the key link between the operations, logistics, and site teams, ensuring the right equipment is in the right place, at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day yard and warehouse operations
- Supervise and lead yard staff, drivers, and labourers
- Oversee loading/unloading, dispatch, and return of scaffold materials
- Maintain accurate stock levels and equipment condition reports
- Implement and monitor WHS and housekeeping standards




- Coordinate logistics and support project teams with timely deliveries

About You

- Proven experience managing a warehouse, factory, or yard workplace
- Any form of trade background
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Forklift licence (essential)
- HC or HR truck licence (preferred)
- Practical, safety-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
