Job Brief

Our client is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant who has genuinely worked inside acquisition activity before, not just studied it. This is a hands on, technical role acting as the go to person for the finance leadership team, covering everything from pre acquisition considerations through to post completion accounting and integration. It suits someone comfortable in a quick changing, occasionally unstructured environment where priorities can shift week to week.

About Our Client

Our client is a large, multi entity business with an active acquisition strategy, expecting to move back into acquisition mode over the coming months. The finance function is lean and technically stretched, and this role exists to give the finance leadership team a technically strong person they can rely on for acquisition accounting, technical accounting questions and broader transformation work as the business continues to grow.

Responsibilities

- Provide technical input across acquisitions, covering both pre completion considerations and post completion accounting,



including opening balance sheet adjustments and integration of a newly acquired entity's books
- Act as a technical sounding board for finance leadership on accounting, tax and treasury matters as they come up
- Support technical calculations tied to executive and ownership structures, including dividend distribution workpapers
- Contribute to ongoing transformation and process improvement initiatives across the finance function
- Apply accounting standards to technical positions independently, with minimal oversight

Requirements

- CA or CPA qualified
- Genuine exposure to acquisition or M&A; accounting, whether gained inside an acquisitive business or
- advising clients through transactions at a chartered accounting firm
- Comfortable providing technical guidance across accounting, tax and treasury matters
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast changing, less structured environment
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to translate technical positions clearly for non technical stakeholders
