Principal Spatial Administrator | Local Government

Lead the future of spatial technology, data and GIS in a dynamic organisation.

We're seeking an experienced Principal Spatial Administrator to take a lead role in managing, optimising and continuously improving an enterprise GIS environment.
n
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior GIS professional who enjoys working across spatial technology, data, systems administration and stakeholder engagement, and wants to have a tangible impact through the use of geospatial information.

The Opportunity
n
In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of enterprise GIS and spatial data, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, high-performing and fit for purpose.
n
You'll work across:
n
n
- Enterprise GIS platforms, spatial databases and web mapping solutions
n
- GIS platform configuration, maintenance and optimisation
n
- Spatial data integrity, quality, standards and metadata
n
- System performance, security, backups and troubleshooting
n
- Advanced spatial analysis, modelling and data visualisation
n
- Continuous improvement and implementation of GIS enhancements
n
- Providing expert technical advice and acting as an escalation point
n
- Working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective spatial solutions
n
n
You'll also have the opportunity to stay across emerging geospatial technologies, methodologies and industry trends, helping shape the ongoing evolution of GIS services.
n
What You'll Bring
n
We're looking for someone with strong technical expertise and a genuine passion for spatial technology, including:
n
n
- Strong experience managing GIS, databases and web delivery systems
n
- Expert knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS Platform, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
n
- Strong experience with FME
n
- Practical experience with GIS data modelling and scripting/programming, particularly Python, SQL and/or Arcade
n
- Robust spatial analysis, problem-solving and systems administration capability
n
- Excellent understanding of cartography, spatial analysis and data visualisation
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines
n
- A relevant degree in GIS, Computer Science, Information Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
n
