Unison Solar Energy is building its capabilities in Australian solar manufacturing and is looking for an experienced Facility Manager to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our growing manufacturing facility. This is an opportunity to manage key facilities, utilities, infrastructure and maintenance programs while contributing to major projects, operational improvements and the continued development of our manufacturing capabilities.
Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing and external partners, you will play a key role in optimising facility performance, driving reliability and energy efficiency, managing compliance and delivering infrastructure projects. Facility Performance:Manage facilities, utilities and infrastructure to maintain reliable operations and support manufacturing performance.
Maintenance & Reliability:Develop and optimise preventative and corrective maintenance programs to improve asset reliability, minimise downtime and support manufacturing continuity.
Projects & Growth: Manage facility projects, upgrades and improvements from planning and budgeting through to commissioning and handover.
Responsibilities
- Oversee facilities, utilities and infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable and cost‑effective operations while meeting WHS and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor key performance measures and drive continuous improvement across maintenance, reliability, efficiency and operational processes.
- Develop and optimise preventative and corrective maintenance programs to improve asset reliability, minimise downtime and support uninterrupted manufacturing.
- Lead, develop and support the Facilities team through clear direction, coaching, performance management and capability development.
- Monitor and optimise site utilities, including electricity, HVAC, compressed air and other essential services.
- Provide technical advice,
reporting and recommendations to management on facility performance, risks, compliance and improvement opportunities.
- Review engineering drawings, technical documentation and facility layouts, including AutoCAD where required.
- Work with internal teams, contractors, service providers, utilities and regulators to resolve issues, minimise disruption and ensure safe, effective delivery.
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services or related discipline, with 8+ years’ facilities management experience in a large‑scale manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years in a Facilities Supervisor, Facilities Manager or similar leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience delivering industrial or manufacturing facility projects, upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to high‑pressure situations, operational issues and emergencies.
- Sound knowledge of high voltage/low voltage electrical distribution, fault diagnosis and protection systems, HVAC, cleanrooms, dehumidification, compressed air, cooling towers, purified water and wastewater systems.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency practices and ISO 50001 principles, with proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing engineering drawings and facility documentation.
- Experience in solar module, EV battery, semiconductor, LCD/display panel, automotive or other advanced manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of WHS, statutory compliance, risk management, emergency preparedness and safe work practices.
