Assistant Project Officer

Division Name: Licensing and Accreditation, Building Commission NSW
Grade: Clerk Grade 5/6
Location: Parramatta
Term: Temporary 6 months

This an exciting opportunity to be part of high functioning, dynamic team. We are searching for a proactive, motivated team member to join the Licensing and Accreditation (L&A;) division of the Building Commission NSW. The broader unit assesses licences and authorities for various industries regulated by Building Commission NSW.

As Assistant Project Officer in the Licensing and Accreditation Business and Strategic Support (LABSS) team, you will play a crucial role in undertaking a range of project research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of projects, in line with established project plans and objectives.

As Assistant Project Officer you will be responsible for:
-Assisting in the development and implementation of projects by undertaking research, analysis, and reporting tasks aligned with established project plans and objectives.
-Gathering and evaluating data from various sources to inform project planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives.
-Drafting clear and concise reports, briefing notes, and other project documentation to support effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
-Managing project-related administrative tasks including scheduling meetings, maintaining records, tracking progress, and updating project documentation.
-Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support project activities, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
-Contributing to the development and execution of strategic plans and business improvement initiatives within the LABSS team.
-Ensuring project activities comply with relevant policies, procedures, and standards, maintaining a focus on quality and accountability.

To be successful in this role you will have:
-The ability to work autonomously or with limited direction.
-The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.




-Proven experience to plan and prioritise a high-volume of work with conflicting and critical deadlines.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to craft clear, concise and effective documentation including emails or reports that communicate findings and recommendations.
-The ability to gather, synthesize, and evaluate information from various sources to support project objectives.
-A strong ability to analyse data, identify trends and present findings to inform decision-making.
-Problem solving skills to identify and address issues that may arise during project implementation or with work tasks.

Salary Grade 5/6, with the base salary for this role starting at 102,936 base plus superannuation
