The About

Our client is a respected Australian gold producer with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence and workforce development. They are currently seeking an experienced Mobile/Fixed Plant Trainer & Assessor to join their site-based training team in the northeast Pilbara.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced mining professional who enjoys developing people, maintaining high training standards and supporting safe and efficient mining operations.

The role will initially be offered on a 3-month contract with a view to permanent, providing flexibility for the right candidate to join the team and help fill a current gap within the training department.

The Opportunity

Working on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth, flying Fridays, you will work alongside an experienced trainer and play an important role in maintaining workforce competency across mobile plant operations and other site-based activities.

You will deliver training and assessments, conduct VOCs and support the ongoing development of employees and contractors across a range of mining equipment and operational requirements.

You'll be joining an experienced and supportive team during a key period leading into a major mill shutdown in November, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on training role.

The Tasks Ahead

- Deliver training and competency assessments across a range of mobile plant equipment and site-based activities

- Conduct VOCs and competency assessments for mobile plant and high-risk work

- Train and assess operators across equipment including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, graders and ancillary equipment

- Support competency and training requirements for equipment such as forklifts, EWPs, cranes and other site equipment where required

- Conduct and support assessments for confined space and working at heights

- Facilitate general inductions for new starters and contractors

- Maintain accurate training records,



assessment documentation and compliance requirements

- Use site training systems and databases to maintain workforce competency records

- Work closely with supervisors, operational leaders and safety teams to identify training needs and ensure competency requirements are met

- Support permit to work, isolation and other site safety processes where required

- Ensure training and assessment activities align with site procedures, operational requirements and relevant legislation

About You

You are an experienced mining professional with strong mobile plant knowledge and a genuine interest in developing people.

You're practical, confident and comfortable working in an operational mining environment. You can communicate effectively with operators, supervisors and other site personnel and understand the importance of competency, compliance and secure work practices.

You'll be someone who can hit the ground running, work independently while being part of an established training team, and adapt to the changing needs of site operations.

Key Requirements

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40122 or equivalent

- Demonstrated experience delivering training and assessments within the mining industry

- Strong experience with mobile and/or fixed plant operations

- Experience conducting VOCs and competency-based assessments

- Sound knowledge of mining procedures and site safety requirements

- Current C Class Driver's Licence

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work FIFO from Perth on an 8:6 roster





- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening

- Full Australian working rights

- Currently residing in Western Australia

Highly Regarded

- Experience training and assessing operators on haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, graders and ancillary equipment

- Previous experience in a gold mining environment

- Experience with INX or similar site-based training and workforce management systems

- Experience using Learning Management Systems and training databases

- Experience delivering VOCs for high-risk work and site equipment

- Previous experience working within a dedicated site training team
