Company Description: Strong Futures Allied Health is an Aboriginal-owned allied health provider focused on culturally safe, trauma-informed care for Aboriginal people with disabilities. The team delivers speech pathology and occupational therapy capacity-building supports across Perth metro, the Pilbara, and the Kimberley region. Strong Futures Allied Health works with people involved in the justice system and individuals with FASD, acquired brain injury, psychosocial disability, autism, and other disabilities. The organization is Supply Nation registered, a member of the Indigenous Allied Health Association, and grounds its work in the AHCWA Social and Emotional Wellbeing framework. Services are delivered on Country in multiple Kimberley communities, emphasizing community, connection, and meaningful capacity building.

Role Description This is a full time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Perth, WA, with travel as required to communities across the Pilbara and Kimberley regions. The Occupational Therapist will provide culturally safe, trauma-informed assessment and intervention for children, young people, and adults with a range of disabilities and complex needs. Day-to-day tasks include conducting functional assessments, developing and implementing individualized therapy and capacity-building plans, and supporting participation in everyday activities at home, school, and in the community. The role involves close collaboration with families, ACCHOs,



NDIS coordinators, justice services, schools, and other stakeholders to coordinate care and advocate for client goals. The Occupational Therapist will also contribute to service development, documentation, and continuous improvement aligned with Indigenous health frameworks and community-led priorities.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, including functional assessment, intervention planning, and capacity-building support.
- Strong Communication skills for working collaboratively with clients, families, communities, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Recognized qualification in Occupational Therapy and current APRAH registration.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, culturally safe and trauma-informed practices within Aboriginal communities.
- Ability to work on-site and travel to regional and remote communities, with a valid driver’s license.
- Strong documentation, time management, and caseload coordination skills, with a commitment to ethical, client-centered care.
