Contract: Permanent Fulltime & Contract Positions
Days/Hours of Duty: 8.30 am-3.00 pm (Parent and team meetings occur outside of these times – average of 38 hours per week)

Qualifications / Experience: Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers and First Aid and CPR Certificate, qualifications in inclusive education are valued but not essential.

Silkwood Middle School (Years 6-9) is seeking dynamic and innovative educators to join our team of Advisors (Teachers) in our unique 2-year Advisory Model, with class sizes of 18 students. At Silkwood, across Years 6-9, students are discovering who they are, finding their voice, building independence, navigating challenge and beginning to shape the person they want to become.
You won't simply teach a class; you are journeying alongside them. We believe in “Adventuring for Life” — learning through experience, connection, outdoor education and real-world exploration that builds curiosity, resilience, and purpose. Our middle school program is designed to ignite curiosity, develop critical thinking, and inspire students to make a positive impact on the world.
We are seeking teachers who can bring learning to life through personalised, student-centred education and meaningful relationships that support every young person to thrive.
About the Role:
You’ll teach across Years 6-9, delivering an integrated model aligned to The Silkwood Way. Our Advisory Model runs in two consecutive 2-year cycles (Years 6-7 and 8-9),
and we welcome applicants from any year level within this range. Expect a blend of core curriculum with real world, experiential, and project-based learning that builds curiosity, capability and confidence in every student.
As an Advisor, you will:
- Design and deliver Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) responsive to individual strengths, needs and goals.
- Teach through an integrated, interdisciplinary approach aligned with The Silkwood Way.
- Create engaging, real-world, experiential learning experiences that connect students to purpose and context.
- Build strong relationships as a mentor and Advisor, supporting both academic growth and wellbeing across a 2-year advisory cycle.
- Foster a restorative practice culture, guiding students through reflection, accountability, and relationship repair.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and connected Middle School culture.
