About the role The Aboriginal Arts Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the delivery of cultural and arts-based programs. This role will support the delivery of the Koomba Boys Project, currently held on Mondays, and requires a candidate who can build positive, trusted relationships with the young people involved and provide appropriate role modelling, mentorship and support. This role is one day a week with opportunities for additional hours.

The Koomba program is funded until 31st of December 2026 with possible extension.

Key responsibilities

- Work with the reference group and key community members to engage artists/specialists with appropriate checks, skills, and qualifications to assist in the delivery of the program

- Promote and educate internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of the Aboriginal Arts program to maximise partnerships, increase awareness and participation

- Build on existing programs through a range of arts and culturally based educational activities

- Assist in the development of pathways for young people to build on their confidence, self-esteem, and ability to engage in future education and career opportunities

- Assist with the program and activity documentation, measurement, evaluation, and reporting

- Assist in the preparation of funding reports and acquittals for submission, ensuring contractual compliance

- Build strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art centres, artists, and cultural practitioners, as well as other arts organisations, institutions,



and metropolitan service providers

- Liaise with relevant government and non-government stakeholders, establish, and maintain industry networks

- Represent ERCWA at external forums, conferences, and events

- Ensure all work practices are carried out in as safe a manner as is possible and always comply with all applicable legislation and ERCWA policies and procedures

About you

- Proficient in using a range of Microsoft Office packages

- Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

- Ability to build rapport with a diverse group of people, including cultural awareness and an understanding of issues faced by these communities

- Effective organisational, problem solving and time management skills along with the ability to contribute to team planning sessions

- Customer focused approach

- Arts background and confident facilitation skills

- Current WA Driver's Licence

- National Police Clearance

- Working with Children Check

- Australian Working Rights

- First Aid Certificate
