What we're looking for
n
n
- A recognised Cert III or Diploma qualification in Early Childhood (ACECQA recognised)
n
- Prior experience working within a Montessori-aligned environment, or a genuine passion for and understanding of Montessori philosophy and practice
n
- A genuine respect for children and an appreciation of their individual development, interests, independence, and capabilities
n
- A calm, patient and responsive approach to supporting children's learning and development
n
- Current WWC + First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Current Mandatory Reporting for Early Childhood and National Child Safety Training Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Previous experience in a childcare/early learning setting is essential, ideally within Montessori philosophy
n
- Punctuality, flexibility and a proactive, positive attitude
n
- Access to your own vehicle and a willingness to travel up to 45 minutes
n
- A minimum of 3 days availability across Monday-Friday and the ability to work long day care hours where required
n
n
Key duties
n
n
- Support children to engage in meaningful, purposeful and hands‐on Montessori learning experiences
n
- Foster children's independence by encouraging them to make choices, develop practical life skills and take responsibility for their learning and environment
n
- Support and contribute to educational programmes that reflect Montessori principles and the EYLF
n
- Respectfully observe children and respond to their individual interests, developmental needs and emerging capabilities
n
- Help maintain a calm, orderly and thoughtfully prepared learning setting that encourages exploration and independence
n
- Foster positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
n
- Ensure the health, safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children in your care at all times
n
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, observations and learning experiences, where required
n
- Collaborate and communicate respectfully and effectively with co‐workers, families and the wider community
n
n

- Passionate about Montessori Education and children's learning, development and independence
n
- A genuine belief in children as capable,
curious and active participants in their own learning
n
- Understanding of child‐led learning, respectful guidance, observation and the importance of the prepared environment
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- A calm, patient and respectful approach to working with children
n
- A consistent willingness to get stuck in and show initiative
n
- Ability to work effectively as part of any team while also working confidently and independently
n
- Strong understanding of EYLF, VEDYLF and Child Safety Standards
n
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a casual capacity
n
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and deepening your understanding of Montessori-aligned practice
n
