We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Trade Finance team.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant – Trade, you will play a key role in supporting financial accounting, reporting and compliance activities across one of Bapcor's largest and most commercially significant business segments.

This role offers excellent exposure to month-end reporting, financial controls, audit processes, fixed asset management and business partnering, making it an ideal opportunity for a finance professional looking to broaden their commercial and technical accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare month-end journals and support the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items to ensure strong financial controls.




- Analyse financial results against budget, forecast and prior periods, providing commentary on key variances and performance drivers.
- Manage the Trade Fixed Asset Register, ensuring assets are accurately capitalised, depreciated and disposed of in accordance with accounting and tax requirements.
- Support half-year and year-end audit processes, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, Group policies and reporting requirements.
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Merchandise and Marketing to provide accounting support and insights.
- Contribute to process improvement, automation and reporting enhancement initiatives that improve efficiency, control and business visibility.

Qualifications You are a proactive accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and combining robust technical accounting skills with business partnership.

You will bring:

- Degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualification (or working towards completion).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting, financial reporting or a similar finance role.
- Experience with month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and audit support.




- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- A continuous improvement mindset and interest in leveraging automation and technology to drive efficiencies.
