About the role

Reporting directly to the Directors, you will serve as the group's primary accountant, managing financial reporting, tax compliance, and commercial accounting across our trading, contracting, and property entities. You will collaborate cross-functionally with operational teams, manage international and domestic supply-chain settlements, interface with a multilingual customer and supplier base, and liaise with external tax agents, banking partners, and auditors.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for group entities, alongside consolidated management reports for the Directors.
- Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS, PAYG withholding, payroll tax, and superannuation obligations across VIC and QLD.
- Compile year-end company and trust tax working papers; coordinate with external tax agents on statutory tax returns and ASIC compliance.
- Process end-to-end payroll (Single Touch Payroll) across warehouse, sales, transport, and contracting personnel, including modern award interpretation and timesheet reconciliation.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including trade credit accounts, overseas supplier reconciliations, and foreign currency trade settlements (e.g., AUD / RMB).
- Maintain inventory accounting across multiple warehouse locations: landed cost allocation, inventory valuation, stocktake variance analysis, and gross margin reporting by product category.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany entries, and fixed asset register maintenance.
- Provide cash-flow forecasts, budgeting support, and operating cost analysis to assist management decision-making.
- Assist with refining internal financial controls, inventory systems, and management reporting templates.

About you

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (accredited MPA or equivalent),



with eligibility for CPA Australia or CA ANZ membership.
- Minimum 2 years of Australian accounting experience covering statutory reporting, BAS, payroll, and company/trust taxation (gained in public practice or a commercial setting).
- Hands-on proficiency with Xero and MYOB; exposure to practice management software (e.g., HandiSoft) is advantageous.
- Qualified English working proficiency, along with professional bilingual proficiency in Mandarin (verbal and written) to facilitate direct communications with international suppliers, interpret overseas trade documentation, and engage with multilingual trade accounts.
- Advanced Excel capabilities and a disciplined, analytical approach to reconciliations.
- Valid, unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Practical knowledge of cross-border trade transactions, overseas commercial invoices/customs documentation, and multi-currency supplier settlement.
- Relevant postgraduate credentials in business analytics/research methods, or experience utilizing data tools such as R or Python for financial modeling.
- Prior accounting experience within wholesale distribution, manufacturing, building supplies, or inventory-heavy commercial environments.
