Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will join a friendly Finance team based at VAE HQ in Darra just off the Centenary Highway, close to Darra train station, supermarkets, the chemist, and banh mi's for lunch. We have lots of parking onsite, a cafe standard coffee machine, and we are close to other eateries if a banh mi doesn't cut it.

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable professional to take ownership of a busy AR function. VAE Group is a Tier-One HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) contractor. We work on major and minor construction projects alongside our Service and Maintenance business across Australia and New Zealand. The volume and complexity of invoices can vary across these two arms of the business.

This role suits someone who owns a problem and sees it through until it is sorted. You will be responsible for following up outstanding debt, allocating and reconciling payments, investigating discrepancies, and working with customers and internal teams to resolve issues.

What You’ll Be Doing (includes, but is not limited to)

- Own the day-to-day AR function
- Proactively follow up customers
- Manage, maintain and report on the debtor ledger
- Investigate overpayments, underpayments and account discrepancies
- Manage AR queries and the AR inbox
- Complete credit checks and set up new customers
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment issues
- Identify when an issue needs escalation and get it to the right person

What You’ll Bring

You're someone who genuinely enjoys investigating and resolving AR roadblocks. You are excellent with systems, with a wealth of experience using ERP’s (we use Pronto) and CRM’s (Salesforce).

You will also bring

- Solid hands-on Accounts Receivable experience, ideally from high volume environments
- Experience managing a debtor ledger
- Excellent communications skills: you demonstrate a preference for picking up the phone to call the right people to resolve your enquiries
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent demonstration of building relationships with relevant internal customers/colleagues and customers
- Demonstration of being practical and proactive in your approach to getting your work done
- Experience with Pronto and Salesforce is highly advantageous
