Apprentice Hairdresser or Salon Assistant

Good hair starts with good people. Come be one of ours. ✨ Bob Hair Co is looking for a warm, switched-on person to join our South Yarra salon as either an Apprentice Hairdresser or Salon Assistant, depending on your experience and where you want to take your career.

You may have already started your apprenticeship, be studying hairdressing, or simply know that you would love to work in a beautiful salon workplace. You don’t need to arrive knowing everything—but you do need to be reliable, proactive and genuinely willing to learn.

We’re not your average salon. We’re a nurturing, full-time environment where wellness matters, the vibe is good, our products are toxic-free, and mentorship is something we genuinely invest in.

What the role involves

- Welcoming and looking after our clients
- Shampooing, treatments and assisting our stylists
- Preparing stations and helping the salon run smoothly
- Keeping the space consistently clean, polished and organised
- Supporting the team and learning how a busy, high-standard salon operates

For the right person, this role can grow into—or continue as—a formal hairdressing apprenticeship.

Who we’re looking for

You’re friendly, grounded and comfortable speaking with people. You notice what needs doing, take pride in the small details and understand that being part of a salon means everyone helps keep it running beautifully. You don’t need extensive salon experience for the assistant pathway. Attitude, reliability and initiative matter most.

If you’re already an apprentice, we’d love someone who is curious, coachable and serious about developing strong technical skills and eventually building a successful clientele.

Australian working rights are essential. Some Saturday work will be required.
