Your new role
- Lead the development and delivery of strategic communication and media plans that support nationally significant programs and initiatives.
- Identify and drive proactive media opportunities, crafting compelling stories that generate engagement and strengthen organisational reputation.
- Develop executive communication products including speeches, presentations, briefing materials, talking points and key messaging for senior stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice on strategic messaging, reputation management and communications risks within a complex stakeholder environment.
- Translate complex policy, research and program information into accessible and engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Build robust relationships across the organisation to ensure communications are coordinated, culturally informed and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Analyse media coverage, audience insights and campaign performance to evaluate communication effectiveness and inform future strategy.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic communications and media engagement strategies.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for executive, media, stakeholder and public audiences.
- Experience preparing speeches, presentations, ministerial-style briefs, talking points or executive communication materials.
- Strong media relations and stakeholder engagement experience, including managing competing priorities and sensitive issues.
- The confidence to influence and provide trusted communications advice to senior leaders and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use audience insights, media monitoring and performance data to measure impact.
- A high level of cultural awareness and the ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with diverse communities.
