Wood is currently seeking applications for Senior Area Scheduler to join our team at the Ampol Refinery on a permanent basis.
This role involves collaborating with teams to minimize downtime, improve safety, and enhance productivity; and provide technical support to maintenance teams for process standardisation & implementation.
The Successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities within the refinery to ensure optimal equipment performance and operational efficiency.

For 10+ years, Wood has held a Maintenance contract at the Lytton Refinery in Brisbane, Australia and have been heavily imbedded into the Ampol culture with a strong focus on team alignment across the contracting teams.
Our team of engineers, planners, supervisors, team leads, quality control, contract management, mechanical and electrical technicians, logistics, payroll, site administration, project management and human resourcing are committed in producing and distributing petroleum and fuel safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive integrated maintenance schedule
- Produce maintenance schedules in line with work management principles, procedures and site-specific guidelines
- Schedule to achieve optimal availability of plant & equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to Operations
- Chair the schedule meetings with key stakeholders. Attend and actively participate in standard planning meetings
- Utilize the CMMS (SAP) to analyse equipment performance data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to maintenance processes
- Generate and present regular reports on maintenance performance metrics, schedule adherence, and resource utilization
- Actively work with the Planning leads to maintain and enhance business processes within the maintenance function
- Maintain,
contribute and progress workflow in maintenance managements systems and databases
- Demonstrate a pro-active role in identifying safety improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance management, or a previous trade certification qualification – Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation
- Minimum of 5+ years in maintenance scheduling or planning, preferably in the oil and gas industry or heavy industrial environment
- Experience with SAP, P6, Prometheus or alternative scheduling software
- Strong leadership & communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proven ability to lead a high performing team as well as being a high-level performer
- Solid business & scheduling process knowledge within a maintenance environment.
