The Opportunity
Access Foundation Branch within Mission Capability Division is a cross functional, integrated team of Analysts, Developers, Engineers, Radio Frequency (RF) Technicians and Project Specialists working to deliver critical capabilities against some of ASD’s hardest SIGINT access problems.
Shoal Bay Receiving Station (SBRS) based in Darwin and Australian Defence Satellite Communications Station (ADSCS) based in Geraldton are remote intelligence facilities managed by ASD. Working at our sites will offer a unique and challenging work setting where experienced public sector professionals work alongside highly skilled technical experts to achieve exciting outcomes for ASD. You will be required to work closely between the two sites and other areas across the organisation.
We are seeking energetic, highly organised and task-orientated ASD4 Store Person to undertake a broad range of work in support of ASD’s mission. You will play a critical role in supporting the internal infrastructure of one of the largest organisations within the National Intelligence Community.
Due to the unique nature of the work conducted at this location, staff may be provided the opportunity to obtain a range of additional qualifications including construction cards, truck and forklift licenses.
We are looking for an ASD 4 Store Person accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex inventory management work within an integrated workforce. They will be accountable to have a good understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and the Australian Signals Directorate’s mission and policy requirements.
Key Duties:
- Coordinate inventory management with information management systems and responding to inventory requests.
- Manage and implement stock take plans and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Compose responses to correspondence, briefs and reports on inventory management activities.
- Demonstrate knowledge in the Australian Signals Directorate logistics policies and apply them to inventory management activities.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
- Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member.
- Recommend solutions to issues affecting the achievement of desired outcomes.
- Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Allocate work, resources and tasks and set work area priorities to meet work area outcomes.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be accountable for organising their workflow, making decisions within their defined parameters relating to area of responsibility and will seek guidance when required. They may exercise some discretion with respect to how legislation, procedures and guidelines are interpreted and applied to their work. They will provide administrative support that is informed and directed by their knowledge of the warehousing and distribution function.
They may undertake some research and analysis activities.
Our ideal candidate will
- Have experience in warehouse, stores, inventory, or logistics operations.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail when handling stock, assets, and inventory records.
- Be able to follow established procedures and work instructions while maintaining compliance with organisational policies.
- Show initiative in identifying and resolving routine issues within their area of responsibility.
- Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and safe manual handling practices.
