The Opportunity

Access Foundation Branch within Mission Capability Division is a cross functional, integrated team of Analysts, Developers, Engineers, Radio Frequency (RF) Technicians and Project Specialists working to deliver critical capabilities against some of ASD’s hardest SIGINT access problems.

Shoal Bay Receiving Station (SBRS) based in Darwin and Australian Defence Satellite Communications Station (ADSCS) based in Geraldton are remote intelligence facilities managed by ASD. Working at our sites will offer a unique and challenging work workplace where experienced public sector professionals work alongside highly skilled technical experts to achieve exciting outcomes for ASD. You will be required to work closely between the two sites and other areas across the organisation.

We are seeking energetic, highly organised and task-orientated ASD 5 & 6 Product Manager to undertake a broad range of work in support of ASD’s mission. You will play a critical role in supporting the internal infrastructure of one of the largest organisations within the National Intelligence Community.

Due to the unique nature of the work conducted at this location, staff may be provided the opportunity to obtain a range of additional qualifications including construction cards, truck and forklift licenses.

The Product Manager is accountable, under limited direction, for the delivery of complex logistics, inventory, and asset management functions within an integrated workforce. The role requires the effective coordination and governance of logistic activities to support operational capability and organisational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

- Developing, maintaining, and applying a well-developed understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks, ASD policy, mission, and strategic requirements
- Ensuring compliance with ASD logistics systems, asset accountability standards, and governance obligations while providing informed advice to senior management.
- Use inventory and asset management systems to input, track,



and report on stock movements.
- Prepare reports on stock usage, trends, and logistics performance.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement.
- Manage accurate asset records reflecting Project WBS elements and relevant cost centre captures.
- Manage accurate asset information capture into applicable Enterprise Asset Management Software (EAMS, SAP, MAXIMO/MAS etc).
- Capture and collate any asset warranty, repair or calibration reporting.
- Manage asset transfers.
- Oversee asset-sparing levels and supply line performance.
- Manage retirement of assets, incorporating disposal and removals.
- Mass asset revaluations and change of useful life.
- Capture and record asset impairments.
- Manage asset classifications (fixed assets, cost centre assets, inventory).
- Manage ASD and Cost Centre Stock takes, corrections and reporting.
