KEE Group is a successful, family-owned business based in Welshpool, Perth. We are known for our expertise, credibility, reliability, and professionalism, with a diverse business portfolio and proven record of delivering Surfacing, Hire, Transport, Fuel and Mechanical services to some of the largest civil construction and mining companies in Australia.
KEE Surfacing, our largest division, is known for its superior spray seal, profiling, and asphalt crews, and has built the reputation as the industry’s best in WA. We are now seeking an experienced, hands-on Asphalt Plant Maintenance Lead to support the reliability, mobilisation and operation of our mobile asphalt production fleet. This is a hybrid field-based role working between our Welshpool yard and regional project sites, with travel determined by operational requirements rather than a fixed roster.
Reporting directly to the Plant Supervisor, you will take the lead on day-to-day maintenance activities and work closely with the wider maintenance team. Plant operation is a shared responsibility between the whole team depending on the workload at the time.
The Role:
- Participate in planned and breakdown maintenance across asphalt plants and associated equipment.
- Inspect asphalt plants, identify faults, and coordinate repairs to minimise downtime and maintain safe operations.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, engaging specialist support where required.
- Assist with the setup, commissioning, relocation, and decommissioning of mobile asphalt plants across WA.
- Coordinate maintenance activities, including work priorities, labour, tooling, and parts requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and repair records.
- Monitor critical spare parts and arrange replenishment as required.
- Operate asphalt plants and associated mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
- Promote and maintain safe work practices,
including housekeeping, isolation, and permit systems.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- HR Driver Licence (minimum)
- Previous asphalt plant operation or maintenance experience (essential)
- Availability for ad hoc weekend work and work away
- Experience operating heavy equipment (essential) (loaders, telehandlers, EWP...)
- A strong ‘team player’ with the proven positive attitude to work well with others
Benefits:
- Full-time position – minimum 80 hours per fortnight with available overtime
- Excellent remuneration (plus penalties and travel allowance) & Fortnightly pay
- Excellent working conditions with a new purpose-built depot coming in November 2026
- Variety of work between the Perth yard and regional projects throughout Western Australia
- Working in a highly supportive and team-oriented company with a strong commitment to on-going training and maintaining a zero-harm environment for all our employees, visitors, and clients.
