Assistant Accountant - Yarrawonga
Grown. Created. Made. Loved. At Rich Glen, everything begins on our family farm.
What started in 1998, when father and son Franc and Daimien planted over 35,000 olive trees along the Murray River, has grown into a proudly family-owned business creating award-winning food, skincare and gifting products enjoyed across Australia.
From the olives we grow to the products we craft and the experiences we create, every part of our business is connected by a simple belief: the best products come from the best ingredients and the best people.
As we enter our next phase of business growth, we’re investing in our people, systems and financial capability to support the next chapter of the Rich Glen story.
The Chance
We are looking for an enthusiastic and accomplished Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team.
Reporting directly to our Financial Controller, in a broad, high-impact role. You will dive into the heart of our finance operations, master day-to-day functions, and actively shape our future through process innovation, sharp financial reporting, and strategic business analysis.
Unlock a truly dynamic accounting career that goes far beyond routine ledger processing. In this versatile role, you will break free from traditional silos to gain invaluable, hands-on exposure across a thriving multi-industry business—spanning manufacturing, agriculture, retail, wholesale, and eCommerce. If you are looking for a launching pad with genuine professional development and clear pathways to advance your accounting career, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for.
About You
You’re someone who enjoys solving problems, improving the way things are done and taking pride in producing accurate, meaningful financial information. You’re organised, curious and proactive, and you enjoy being part of a team where you can contribute ideas and continue building your skills.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Experience as an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer, Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
- A Degree or Certificate or Diploma in Accounting/Bookkeeping, or currently working towards a relevant qualification
- Confident Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with accounting software, with Xero experience highly regarded
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Great attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Clear, confident communication skills and a collaborative approach
- A proactive mindset, with the confidence to ask questions, learn and suggest better ways of doing things
- Experience in retail, manufacturing or a family-owned business would be a bonus, but isn’t essential
What You’ll Be Doing This is a varied role that will give you hands-on exposure across the full finance function. You’ll build a strong understanding of the business through day-to-day accounting, month-end and financial reporting, while contributing to budgeting, forecasting and cash flow. You’ll also work closely with the wider team on inventory, finance projects and system improvements, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills, solve problems and make a meaningful contribution as Rich Glen continues to grow.
Why This Role is Different
At Rich Glen, you won’t be limited to one small part of the finance function. This is a broad, hands-on role within a fast-paced, growing family business where you’ll be close to the action and have plenty of opportunity to learn, contribute and make an impact.
You’ll enjoy
- Broad exposure across manufacturing, agriculture, retail, eCommerce and wholesale
- A varied role spanning day-to-day accounting, reporting, analysis and business improvement
- The opportunity to work closely with the Financial Controller and wider management team
- A fast-moving environment where ideas can turn into action
- Genuine scope to improve processes, systems and ways of working
- Exposure to inventory accounting, multi-site operations and the complexities of a growing business
- The chance to take on greater responsibility and develop as the business continues to grow
- A supportive, family-owned environment where your contribution is visible and valued
