About the Chance
As an Assistant Security Advisor – Security Operations, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of operational security services across a complex Defence environment. Working as part of the Build IPT Security team, you will help ensure compliance with Defence security requirements, support the implementation of security initiatives, and contribute to the protection of people, information, and assets. Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day delivery of security operations activities across the Build IPT environment.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements in line with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP).
- Provide advice and support on physical, personnel, and information security matters to stakeholders across the business.
- Conduct security assurance activities, audits,
and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with Defence security standards.
- Support the management and operation of security systems, including access control systems, alarms, and security containers.
- Assist with security accreditations, certifications, investigations, and reporting activities as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned activities, and the delivery of security roadmap objectives.
About you
- Demonstrated experience working within Defence, government, or similarly regulated security environments.
- Strong understanding of Defence security frameworks, including DISP requirements and the practical application of physical, personnel, and information security principles.
- Experience supporting compliance, governance, assurance, or audit-related activities.
- Proven ability to operate and manage security systems, including access control, alarm monitoring, and secure asset management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex security requirements to diverse stakeholders.
- A collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships and contributes positively across cross-functional teams.
- Highly motivated, resilient, and customer-focused, with a strong commitment to integrity, continuous improvement, and achieving positive business outcomes.
Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV2 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
