Vestas, the world leader in renewable energy has made the decision to add new projects to its wind development portfolio in Australia, and as a result, is seeking a skilled Development Manager to join the team as we secure suitable sites to feed into our development pipeline.

As a Development Manager you will be identifying and securing a portfolio of greenfield wind development projects. This will involve developing and implementing a strategy to de-risk and commercialise projects. You will be aided by Vestas proprietary project screening tools and Vestas’ considerable experience in delivering wind power projects in Australia.

Responsibilities

- Develop a pipeline of greenfield wind energy projects
- De-risk key elements of the projects
- Work with the State Government to identify market trends and opportunities to expand our portfolio
- Effectively identifying development and investment opportunities
- Investigate existing and potential future opportunities for commercialisation of wind energy projects
- Leveraging the Vestas organisation to propel development goals
- Coordinate permitting and approvals process
- Contribute to the land access strategy including negotiating and securing easements and options to lease
- Guide connection application and connection agreement processes and negotiations

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in either Economics, Business, Commerce, or similar

Competencies

- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in infrastructure development




- Experience dealing with the State Government on major projects
- Proven experience handling and delivering environmental approvals for major projects
- Proven experience guiding connection application and grid study processes
- Relationships with key stakeholders at Powerlink
- Experience in developing Wind and PV solar plants
- Significant experience effectively handling internal and external stakeholders
- Highly skilled in negotiating project scope, cost, schedule, and risk with contractors
- Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment as well as work autonomously
- Positive commercial insight
