Head Mechanic – Full Time

Formula Automotive is looking for a highly skilled and fully qualified Head Mechanic to join our team at our Greenslopes workshop.

This is a hands-on mechanical role suited to an experienced technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys diagnosing and repairing vehicles, and is confident working independently as well as supporting other technicians and apprentices.

Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 5:00pm

Responsibilities:

- Carry out general mechanical repairs and servicing
- Perform log-book servicing, minor and major services
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Conduct inspections and identify vehicle faults
- Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
- Assist with more complex diagnostic and mechanical work
- Provide guidance and support to other technicians and apprentices
- Maintain a clean, organised, and protected workshop
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding vehicle repairs and servicing
- Complete accurate job sheets and service documentation
- Assist with workshop operations when required

Qualifications & Experience:

- Fully qualified Automotive Mechanic – Australian recognised qualification ONLY
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a qualified mechanic
- Proven experience working as an Automotive Technician/Mechanic
- MUST hold a current Manual Driver's Licence
- Own tools
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of automotive electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Experience with Subaru and Toyota is desirable,

Job Summary

As a Head Mechanic at our Greenslopes location, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality diagnostic, servicing, and repair work across a range of vehicles.

This is a hands-on mechanical position, with the successful applicant also providing support and guidance to other team members when required.
