Location: Canberra

Working arrangement: Hybrid

Contract: 12 months, with two possible 12-month extensions. Estimated start 19 October 2026.

Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline.

About the role

Shape Azure architecture and delivery across the department.

What you will do

Design enterprise Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms, solution architectures and practical guidance for cloud engineers.

Assess stakeholder needs, guide integrations and align delivery with whole-of-government standards and target architectures.

Improve testing, platform automation and CI/CD, promoting reuse and configuration over unnecessary customisation.

Work with business and technical teams, mentor colleagues and incorporate service experience and the DTA Digital Service Standard.

What you will bring





At least five years implementing and managing cloud technologies and developing enterprise and application architectures.

Experience with Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, SQL, Service Bus and API Management.

Azure DevOps, repositories, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployment experience.

Entra ID, Key Vault, Monitor, Application Insights, Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and role-based access control.

Experience integrating third-party systems, including Dynamics 365 CRM.

Robust communication, mentoring and collaboration across dispersed Agile teams, with adaptability as priorities change.

Desirable experience: Technical leadership; cloud, application/integration or infrastructure architecture; at least three years documenting large enterprise architectures. AWS or GCP experience is welcome.
