About The Organisation ASC is Australia’s submarine company. They built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives.
They have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines, the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.
About The Position This Business Analyst role is in ASC’s Workforce Transformation function, which is playing a crucial role in the ‘hire to retire’ employee lifecycle, as well as future proofing the organisation more generally through a huge period of growth. In principle this is a huge program of work, which encompasses numerous core projects, along with a Workday implementation.
This position will play a key role in that workforce transformation program, and as such the work itself is whole-of-system, process, structure, information and technology.
Within the Transformation function you’ll specifically sit within the Business Design team, partnering closely with Change, Communications, Technology and Testing teams. You’ll be expected to move between initiatives, work with managers and staff at every level, and bring structure to problems that arise.
The role
- Elicit, document and validate business requirements and processes with stakeholders across the business.
- Run current state assessments of processes, systems and structures, and build future state operating models, workflows and process maps.
- Conduct gap analysis and business impact analysis, and identify where automation and process redesign will actually pay off.
- Contribute to business cases, cost benefit analysis, risk assessment, value propositions.
- Facilitate workshops for requirements gathering and problem solving.
- Identify data migration, integration and reporting requirements.
- Support delivery through to implementation, and measure the benefits afterwards.
What you'll need
- Tertiary qualification in business, IT, project management, engineering or similar.
- Demonstrated Business Analysis experience within a Transformation program at a large, complex, matrixed organisation.
- Inquisitive, proactive in your decision making, and able to act as a genuine business partner to internal customers.
- Process mapping and process redesign expertise.
- Strong track record of identifying and validating the business impact of change.
- Confident facilitating workshops and working with stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable across both agile and waterfall delivery.
- Certification in agile or a business analysis or redesign methodology is well regarded.
Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
