An established national commercial garden maintenance business is looking for an experienced Business Development Managerto play a key role in its next stage of growth across Melbourne, VIC. With a strong presence across the industrial and commercial sectors, the business has the people, systems, established operational capability and service standards already in place. Now it's time to grow.

The focus will be on developing new business, expanding existing relationships and opening new markets, particularly education and aged care. You will work alongside an experienced and established Operation Manager and report directly to the National Head of Business Development.

This is a genuine new-business BDM role, not an account management position.

The chance

Based in the Melbourne's North, you'll have the autonomy to build the Victoria market while being backed by experienced operational leadership, an established operational team and the best systems.

You'll

- Identify and convert new business opportunities
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline
- Develop relationships with key commercial decision-makers
- Prospect, network and generate new opportunities
- Conduct client meetings and site assessments
- Prepare estimates, quotations, proposals and tenders
- Manage opportunities from prospect through to close and handover
- Track activity, pipeline, conversion and strike rate through CRM
- Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts
- Work closely with Operations team to ensure new business is successfully transitioned into delivery.





About you You're an experienced hunter-style BDM who enjoys being out in the market and creating opportunities.

You can demonstrate a track record of winning new business and are comfortable talking about your activity levels, pipeline, conversion rates and results. You'll ideally have experience in commercial garden maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, facilities management, property services, construction or a related industry.

You're commercially minded, self-motivated and organised, and derive true satisfaction when working directly with prospective and emerging clients. You want autonomy, but you value having experienced people around you to support and challenge you along with the confidence that the work you win will be nurtured by an experienced team who value, service delivery and quality assurance.
