About the role

Ideal Cabinets is seeking a fully qualified Cabinet Maker to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is a diverse role involving both factory manufacturing and onsite installation, primarily working on high-end residential and custom architectural cabinetry.

The position is 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with ordinary working hours of 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, and a 6:30 am start on Wednesdays to make up the 38-hour week.

We offer well above Award wages, with the hourly rate negotiated based on the successful applicant's skills and experience.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manufacture and assemble custom cabinetry in accordance with architectural plans and technical drawings

- Produce consistently high-quality work with a strong focus on detail and a first-class finish

- Liaise with the Operations Manager and Design Manager regarding allocated work, plans and job-specific requirements

- Complete onsite installation of cabinetry and joinery as required

- Assist with the supervision and training of apprentices and junior staff when required

- Identify and resolve manufacturing or installation issues as they arise

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area, including the appropriate disposal of waste and offcuts

About you

We are looking for an experienced Cabinet Maker who takes pride in their workmanship and can confidently work across both manufacturing and installation.

The successful applicant will have:





- A recognised qualification in Cabinet Making

- Previous experience as a qualified Cabinet Maker, with 2+ years' post-qualification experience preferred

- Experience in custom or high-end residential cabinetry highly regarded

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality workmanship
- The ability to confidently read and interpret architectural plans and technical drawings

- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Good organisational and time-management skills
- A reliable and professional approach to work

- Their own set of appropriate hand tools
- A current driver's licence
- A current Construction Induction Card (White Card or valid Victorian Red Card) for onsite work

- Must be Physically Fit and able to lift up to 20kg
