The Kimberley Land Council is seeking a Carbon Program Manager to lead high-impact Aboriginal-owned carbon projects across the Kimberley. Based in the gateway to the Kimberley, Broome, this role is rare opportunity to help grow Aboriginal-owned carbon projects that deliver lasting economic, environmental and cultural outcomes for Traditional Owners.

We’re looking for a program leader with commercial confidence, strong relationship skills and a commitment to Indigenous-led outcomes. You’ll support and help shape Aboriginal-owned carbon projects across the Kimberley. Key components of your role will be supporting compliance, reporting and audits, building partnerships, developing and enhancing systems and project delivery, all while helping turn carbon opportunity into lasting benefits for Country, culture and community.

Key duties include

- Lead and coordinate Aboriginal-owned carbon projects across the Kimberley.
- Manage project delivery, planning, timelines, budgets and reporting.
- Support compliance requirements, audits, contracts and carbon project obligations.
- Build strong relationships with Traditional Owners, PBCs,



Aboriginal corporations and project partners.
- Identify opportunities to grow Indigenous-led participation in the carbon economy.
- Provide practical advice, systems and resources that strengthen local carbon capability.
- Work with technical specialists, commercial partners and funders to deliver project outcomes.
- Ensure carbon projects deliver benefits for Country, culture, community and regional economic development.

Key skills and qualifications include:

- Solid program or project management experience.
- Commercial confidence, including contract, budget or partnership management.
- Understanding of carbon projects, land management, environmental markets or climate-related programs.
- Experience working with Aboriginal organisations, Traditional Owners, PBCs or remote communities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to navigate compliance, reporting and regulated project environments.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A genuine commitment to Indigenous-led outcomes, cultural respect and community benefit.
