About the role

Friday's 8am-4pm; Saturday's 8am-10am

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Independent Carer / Disability Support Worker to join us in Leppington, NSW. This is a casual position requiring essential one-to-one support for a 65 year old lady with disability and aged care needs. You will play a vital part in delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

Whilst this role is for Friday's & Saturday's, we are seeking flexible applicants who can fill in on other days, when the usual scheduled care for that day is unavailable.

Key responsibilities

- Follow and implement activities within daily schedule
- Provide personal care and support including assistance with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, showering, grooming, and dressing
- Support with mobility and movement by following and implementing Allied Health recommendations
- Assist with household tasks including meal preparation and maintenance of a safe, clean living setting
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering positive relationships and engagement
- Enable access to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and outings using your own car
- Monitor and report on clients' health, wellbeing, and any changes in condition
- Communicate effectively with client and her family
- Respect privacy, dignity, and cultural diversity and support activities

What we're looking for





- Current Driver's License and own car is essential
- Genuine willingness to actively help, engage, and provide care & companionship
- Flexible in nature with a happy disposition
- Experience working in aged care, disability support, or a related community services environment (preferred but not essential). Experience in raising a busy family will be highly considered.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively
- Ability to work independently
- Physical capability to perform manual handling and personal care tasks safely and respectfully
- Reliability, punctuality, and a professional approach to work
- Sensitivity to and respect for individual preferences, and client autonomy
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly and appropriately to client needs and changing circumstances
- Familiarity with FaceTime, Zoom, Teams, Spotify, Netflix, YouTube, DVD's, & Word
- ABN (or proof of application of ABN)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (through Service NSW)
- Current Police check

- Competitive hourly rates of pay: Friday's $50/hour; Saturday's $75/hour
